About The Position

QuadReal is seeking an AI Software Engineering Intern for a 4-month term starting in Fall 2026 in Toronto. This role is part of QuadReal's AI & Digital Innovation team, focusing on building and deploying AI products for the real estate business. The intern will gain hands-on experience by writing code, shipping features, and learning about the design, deployment, and governance of AI products within an enterprise. The position involves contributing to live products and owning a discrete prototype from end-to-end. Eligibility requires students to be enrolled in post-secondary studies and returning to school after the work term. Students in official co-op programs with a mandatory final work term are also eligible.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a CS, Software Engineering, or related program.
  • Comfortable in at least one modern language (Python, TypeScript, or C#).
  • Comfortable with Git, basic command line, and reading other people's code.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools on real projects, school or personal.
  • Brings curiosity, integrity, and a collaborative mindset to every problem and takes ownership of their work from start to finish.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud experience, ideally Microsoft Azure, is a plus.
  • Front-end experience (React, Next.js) or a full-stack project on a resume is an asset.
  • Exposure to LLM application patterns (retrieval, tool use, agents) is preferred.
  • A public GitHub or portfolio with at least one shipped project is a plus.
  • Real estate, financial services, or enterprise IT exposure is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Write code, ship features, and learn how AI products are designed, deployed, and governed inside an enterprise.
  • Contribute directly to live products.
  • Own a discrete prototype end-to-end.
  • Build alongside the engineering team, pairing on features for the team's AI product portfolio.
  • Pick up tickets from the active sprint, write code, get it reviewed, and ship it.
  • Write tests, fix bugs, and refactor where needed.
  • Use modern AI coding assistants daily as part of the normal workflow.
  • Take one scoped business problem and build a working prototype across the term.
  • Scope, design, build, demo, and document a prototype.
  • Ship the prototype to a small pilot group if it works.
  • Attend standups, sprint reviews, and code reviews.
  • Document built components and keep runbooks and READMEs current.
  • Participate in the team's review process for anything that touches production.
