About The Position

As a (Senior) Data Engineer (w/m/d) in our Hyperscaler-agnostic Data & AI Area, you will be a driving force in building modern data platforms. You will design and implement highly scalable Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse solutions for our clients, utilizing a future-oriented best-of-breed approach. In this role, you will work focused from our internal delivery team – we do not do body leasing, but real teamwork on joint solutions. You will bring your profound experience in at least one of the major hyperscalers (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) as well as your expertise in SQL and modern data ecosystems such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric. Your goal is to create robust and performant data structures and intelligent ETL/ELT pipelines that serve as a stable foundation for demanding analytics and BI scenarios and offer our clients real added value.

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience: You have several years of experience in data engineering and are ideally at home in modern cloud environments.
  • Expertise in data architectures: You are proficient in SQL and bring a deep understanding of DWH and DLH architectures (including formats like Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) to our projects.
  • Practical platform expertise: You have actively worked with modern data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric/Synapse.
  • Routine in data modeling: Transforming and modeling data (e.g., with dbt or Dataform) is part of your regular toolkit.
  • Visualization talent: You have practical experience in using common BI tools such as PowerBI, Looker, or Tableau to visualize data.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills: You enjoy providing technical advice to clients, presenting complex architectures understandably, and understanding use cases holistically.
  • Proficient handling of cloud ecosystems: You have in-depth knowledge of at least one of the major hyperscalers (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure).
  • Scripting skills: Ideally, you have already gained initial experience with Python to automate tasks or optimize processes.
  • Modern deployment: Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD in the data environment is a valuable plus for our collaboration.
  • Team spirit and drive: You convince with results orientation and the joy of working with our diverse team of passionate experts.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized certifications: You have certifications in the data field (e.g., Snowflake, GCP, or Azure Data Engineer) or are interested in acquiring them with us.

Responsibilities

  • Design future-proof data landscapes: You will be responsible for the conception and architecture of modern, highly scalable Data Warehouse and Lakehouse solutions – using a deep technological foundation to create the best solution agnostic across all hyperscalers.
  • Create efficient data flows: You will develop robust ETL/ELT processes and intelligent data pipelines that seamlessly connect diverse data sources.
  • Structure valuable data models: Together with the team, you will build data models and transformations with modern tools like dbt or Dataform, creating the basis for well-founded decisions.
  • Interface management & consulting: In close coordination with your stakeholders, you will analyze requirements and provide performant data structures that enable tailor-made BI and analytics use cases.
  • Technological guidance: You will evaluate and select the appropriate data technologies for our clients with foresight, consistently pursuing a best-of-breed approach.
  • Knowledge transfer & team development: You will mentor junior/mid-level engineers in their development and actively shape data governance and best practices within our team.
