About The Position

Public Cloud Group (PCG) helps companies modernize, secure, and future-proof their IT landscapes in the cloud. With nearly 500 cloud experts across 21 locations in Europe, PCG is expanding and seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join their 8-person team in PCG DACH. The role offers a professional operations environment without micromanagement, providing the freedom to proactively improve processes and develop into roles like Lead Engineer. The engineer will work closely with their squad and serve as the technical point of contact for a dedicated client base.

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience in the cloud environment with a focus on AWS.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Consulting mindset and ability to communicate complex topics at eye level with clients.
  • Proactive team player who takes responsibility and shares knowledge.
  • Experience with tools like Datadog, Jira, AWS Security Hub, or Wiz.
  • Fluent in German and English for client and internal communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily operation and continuous development of customer AWS environments.
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor, proactively consulting clients on performance, stability, and cloud security.
  • Implement changes, independently coordinate and successfully complete smaller projects.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) securely in daily work.
  • Critically assess existing infrastructures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in on-call duty, with attractive additional compensation and time off in lieu.
