About The Position

As a (Senior) Data & AI Engineer (w/m/d) in our Hyperscaler-agnostic Data & AI Area, you will be the driving force behind bringing State-of-the-Art Machine Learning and Generative AI into real-world application for our clients. You will work as part of our internal delivery team (we do not do body leasing) and accompany future-oriented AI initiatives from the initial creative idea to a stable, scalable architecture. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in modern cloud structures (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) to skillfully orchestrate managed AI services such as Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or Azure AI Foundry. You will develop intelligent agentic workflows, integrate language models (LLMs), and build well-thought-out RAG architectures. Your goal is to combine technological innovation with craftsmanship and engineering excellence to create measurable added value and bring our clients' visions to life.

Requirements

• Solid project experience: You have several years of experience in IT project business, during which you have intensively dealt with Machine Learning, AI, and modern data processing.
• Proficiency in cloud environments: You are comfortable in at least one of the three major hyperscalers (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) and know how to leverage their potential.
• Routine in Python & Frameworks: You have a strong command of Python and bring practical experience with common ML/AI frameworks to our projects.
• Practical experience with AI ecosystems: You have actively worked with platforms like Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or Azure AI Foundry and implemented solutions within them.
• Enthusiasm for GenAI: You have hands-on experience with LLMs and Prompt Engineering and have already designed initial agentic workflows (e.g., via LangChain or LlamaIndex).
• Holistic architectural understanding: You understand the fundamentals of API development and cloud architectures to seamlessly and stably integrate AI models into existing systems.
• Strong communication skills: You enjoy conveying complex AI concepts understandably and supporting our clients in their strategic decisions.
• Team spirit and drive: You convince with results orientation and the joy of collaborating with our diverse team of passionate experts.

Nice To Haves

• Data Engineering fundamentals: Ideally, you have a solid foundation in SQL or modern data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) to independently drive data preparation for your models.
• Knowledge of Vector Databases: You have already had initial contact with vector databases (e.g., Vertex AI Vector Search, Azure AI Search, or pgvector).
• Specialized certifications: You have completed certifications in Machine Learning / AI in Google and Azure, or are eager to obtain them with our support.
• Knowledge of AWS Bedrock is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Co-designing future-oriented AI solutions: You will be responsible for the design and development of modern machine learning solutions to sustainably solve complex customer challenges.
• Building intelligent GenAI structures: You will design and integrate innovative Generative AI solutions and RAG architectures, and support the development of modern agentic tools.
• Orchestrating modern cloud AI services: You will confidently use and connect the AI services of leading hyperscalers like Google Vertex AI and Azure AI Foundry to fully exploit technological potential.
• Bridging to production (MLOps): You will not only develop ML models but also ensure their seamless integration into real production systems through professional engineering and operationalization (MLOps).
• Holistic support & consulting: As a trusted technical advisor, you will support our clients from the initial creative ideation (PoC) to the successful productive rollout of their AI use cases.
• Driving technological trends: You will keep an eye on the AI market, evaluate new technologies with curiosity, and actively develop our "Data & AI Area" through your insights.
