About The Position

getpress, a rapidly growing PR agency, is transforming into a service-software company and is building its AI team. This role is for a Senior Backend Engineer to own the technical foundation of their AI systems, setting European standards. The AI team is currently small, with a basic architecture in place and initial systems running productively. The engineer will be responsible for the technical backbone of an AI-first system driving the entire organization.

Requirements

  • Senior Engineering role (AI, Backend, Full Stack) with a desire to own what is built.
  • >5 years of professional experience, with >2 years in software development.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with AI systems and Context Engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, API Design, Schema Design, Edge Functions, and Query Optimization.
  • Demonstrated ownership, systems thinking, and a genuine passion for AI and automation.
  • German language skills: C1 preferred, B2 sufficient with motivation to reach C1 within the first year.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LLMs, vector databases, workflow orchestration, Azure/OpenAI API, n8n, Make, Supabase, LangChain.
  • Experience with Agentic Systems & Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Security & Compliance (OAuth, RLS, GDPR).

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of architecture and further development of AI agents (LangChain Framework), workflows, data structure, interfaces, compliance, and tech stack (Supabase, ExpressJS, n8n, Make, Claude Code, Vercel, Next.js, Render, Perplexity, Azure OpenAI).
  • Development and operation of AI agents, automated workflows, and API management (HubSpot, Slack) – primarily via code, selectively using No-/Low-Code.
  • Further development of the Supabase architecture (relational + vector) and connection to frontends, agents, and automations.
  • Documentation, knowledge sharing, and coaching the team.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of €70,000–€90,000, depending on experience.
  • Remote work within Germany or Hybrid in Berlin (office in Kreuzberg).
  • 27 days of vacation, increasing to 32 after the first year, and unlimited after the third year.
