Data Engineer

Retool is seeking a highly collaborative individual to join their team and contribute to the development of their data ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and building a foundation that strengthens Retool's data culture at scale. This includes solidifying reporting capabilities, optimizing ETLs, and designing data architecture for scalability. The role also involves taking ownership of the data stack to ensure accessibility for decision-making and quick implementation. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across various departments and contribute to the growth of Retool's user base.

• Design and build a foundation that strengthens Retool's data culture at scale
• Take on projects to solidify Retool's reporting capabilities and maintain a data-driven approach
• Develop and scale ingestion infrastructure, optimize ETLs, and design data architecture for scale
• Manage the data stack to ensure access for teammates and quick implementation for technical teams
• Architect and scale a modern data platform for internal use
• Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for data processing and transformation
• Ensure robust instrumentation across product areas in collaboration with engineering teams
• Partner with business stakeholders to develop requirements for core tables
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems for data management

• Experience in designing and building a data ecosystem at scale
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse management and tooling
• Proficiency in developing and scaling ingestion infrastructure
• Ability to optimize ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and transformation
• Familiarity with data architecture design for scalability
• Experience with data stack technologies such as Segment, Databricks, DBT, and Retool
• Collaboration skills to work with stakeholders across various business functions
• Ability to partner with business stakeholders to gather and synthesize requirements for core tables
• Knowledge of monitoring and ensuring robust instrumentation across product areas
