About The Position

Managed.com is hiring a full-time, on-site Data Center Technician in Buffalo, NY. The role supports daily data center operations through hands-on work with server hardware, system installations, configurations, and infrastructure maintenance. The technician will help ensure systems operate smoothly and efficiently while completing service requests accurately and maintaining clear documentation. Managed.com is a remote-first, global and AI-first team, and finding practical ways to use AI is part of every role.

Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on computer hardware experience, including server builds and installations.
Confidence installing and configuring operating systems such as Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Debian.
Familiarity with data center workflows, including racking equipment and managing cabling.
Comfort working with SuperMicro hardware and related components.
Strong onsite and remote troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and solid organizational habits.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Set up, configure, and deploy physical server hardware according to customer specifications.
Install and manage operating systems, including Windows Server, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
Complete technical service requests in person or through the ticketing system, emphasizing speed, accuracy, and documentation.
Maintain system inventory and configuration records.
Perform infrastructure tasks such as cable routing, component replacement, and diagnostic testing.
Keep the data center organized and clean, and ensure it operates in accordance with safety and procedural guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing hardware and system needs.
Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team and business needs.
