About The Position

Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the Data Center Operations program. The responsibilities of this position include day, evening, and online programs for both traditional and dual-enrolled students. Requirements

Associate’s in Data Center Operations or related degree from an accredited institution. Related areas include electrical systems, industrial systems, HVAC, mechatronics or engineering.
OR recognized industry credentials, license, or certification related to data center operations.
Three (3) years of experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education.
Knowledge of academic course standards.
Knowledge of West Georgia Technical College’s academic programs.
Skill to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff.
Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom and lab content.
Skill to make timely decisions.
Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
Ability to break larger tasks into manageable, smaller tasks.
Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Skill in accurate grading and record keeping.
Skills in interpersonal relations and in interacting with the public.
Oral and written communication skills.
Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in data center operations or related field from an accredited institution.
Directly related teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Online teaching experience.
Knowledge and experience in the use of technology: internet, email, Microsoft Office products, Knowledge Management System (KMS), Blackboard, Banner, Degree Works, and Task Stream.

Responsibilities

Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of Data Center Operations in accordance with academic state standards.
Instructs face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.
Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab.
Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student instructional programs and other issues.
Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Data Center Operations.
Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the Data Center Operations program.
Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order.
Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.
Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives.
Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
Works collaboratively with faculty within the discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success, and submits to the Program Director.
Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies.
Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary.
Supports Program Director, Division Deans, and Associate Deans.
Requests and maintains data center operations supplies and equipment.
Prepare budget requests and place orders for needed supplies and equipment.
Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Serves on committees and project assignments as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
