About the position
Eurowings Digital is seeking a Data Architect to develop and maintain the commercial data architecture for their digital travel platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing end-to-end data analytics solutions, collaborating with data engineers to drive proof of concepts and production solutions, and translating functional requirements into technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a Data Architect, project-based experience with cloud platforms and big data workloads, and proficiency in SQL and in-memory databases.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Architect with a university degree (preferably a Master degree) in Computer Science or any related field
- Ability to create and explain 3-tier architecture diagrams, system context diagrams, and system interaction diagrams
- Project-based experience of implementing data pipelines and application workflows in cloud (AWS, Azure) or similar
- Project-based experience of working with ETL tools and big data workloads with Apache Spark or Hadoop
- Experience with SQL (SQL Script, T-SQL) and in-memory database technologies like Oracle / MS SQL Server
- Technical background in algorithmic processing (AI/ML workloads) and advanced analytics concepts
- Hands-on experience of data models and analysis concepts (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) using proven techniques and modern tools
- Experience in handling structured and unstructured data from different sources
- Experience or know-how of working with agile methods (Scrum or Kanban)
- Experience in the definition of Big Data architecture with different tools and environments: Cloud (AWS, Azure and GCP), Cloudera, No-sql databases (Cassandra, Mongo DB), ELK Kafka, Snowflake, etc
- Previous experience in Artificial Intelligence techniques: ML/Deep Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, etc.
- Ability to work with multiple teams in high visibility roles and own end-to-end data solutions
- Experience in defining and managing data catalogues and data products.
