Hybrid/Local Data Analyst (15+)
About The Position
The Data Analyst will work in a hybrid position in Raleigh, North Carolina, supporting NCDIT. The role focuses on hands-on work with Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, data mapping and modeling, and dashboarding in Power BI and Databricks’ native visualization tools. The analyst will develop business requirements, support change-management documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs. The position works closely with a technical lead and participates in design discussions and planning with the broader development team. The engagement is listed as six months.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Databricks platform and PySpark for data analysis and transformation.
- At least 5 years of experience writing efficient, complex Spark SQL queries to analyze large datasets in Databricks.
- At least 5 years of experience building dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and Databricks’ native tools.
- At least 5 years of experience developing data mappings and models for data integration and transformation.
- At least 5 years of experience gathering and developing business requirements and collaborating with stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of experience conducting data analysis and data quality work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Use Spark SQL within Databricks to query and analyze large datasets, writing efficient and complex queries.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design and deliver high-quality data products.
- Develop detailed data mappings to integrate and transform data from diverse sources into structured, analysis-ready formats.
- Design and build informative dashboards using Power BI or Databricks’ native visualization tools.
- Build Gold-layer data products to support custom-built dashboards, APIs, and UI tools.
- Create documentation for data pipelines, mappings, models, and dashboard functionality.
- Perform statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Develop business requirements, support change-management documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Participate in design discussions and planning with the technical lead and broader development team.
