About The Position

The HMS Analyst supports the implementation, expansion, and ongoing operations of Medicaid data exchange services within NC HIEA. The role focuses on improving health-related social needs (HRSN) data capture and onboarding early adopters, while supporting program efforts to transition to digital quality measures (dQMs), improve HRSN data exchange, and enhance care management data sharing. The analyst translates program and partner needs into technical and workflow requirements, supports Continuity of Care Document (CCD) and Admission-Discharge-Transfer (ADT) data integration, and coordinates cross-team activities to improve data quality and interoperability. The role works with internal teams and external stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, guide testing and onboarding, and help ensure data connections are implemented accurately, securely, and in alignment with statewide population health priorities. The position requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with health information exchange standards, and clear communication with technical and non-technical partners. The position is described as hybrid/remote, with onsite attendance expected only a couple of times per year; preference is given to applicants residing in North Carolina.
