Data Analyst (Hybrid)
About The Position
The Data Analyst will work with Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, Power BI, and Databricks' native visualization tools to analyze data and communicate insights. The role includes developing business requirements, supporting change management documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs. The analyst will work closely with a technical lead and participate in design discussions and planning with the broader development team. The position involves analyzing and mapping data, building Gold-layer data products, developing dashboards, ensuring data quality and integrity, and documenting data pipelines, mappings, models, and dashboard functionality. It also includes statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights. The role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is hybrid, and is offered for six months with a possible extension.
Requirements
- Five years of hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark for data analysis and transformation.
- Five years of experience writing efficient, complex Spark SQL queries to analyze large datasets within Databricks.
- Five years of experience building dashboards with Power BI and Databricks' native visualization tools.
- Five years of experience developing detailed data mappings for data integration and transformation.
- Five years of experience gathering and developing business requirements and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Five years of experience conducting thorough data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis, create data mappings, develop dashboards, and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Use Spark SQL within Databricks to query and analyze large datasets, writing efficient and complex SQL queries.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design and deliver high-quality data products.
- Develop data mappings to support integration and transformation of data from diverse sources into structured, analysis-ready formats.
- Design and build dashboards using Power BI or Databricks' native visualization tools to communicate insights.
- Build Gold-layer data products to support custom-built dashboards, APIs, and UI tools.
- Document data pipelines, mappings, models, and dashboard functionality.
- Perform statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
- Develop business requirements and support change management documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs.
- Participate in design discussions and planning with the technical lead and broader development team.
