About The Position

The Dance Instructor leads youth dance classes at the Sylvania YMCA, providing instruction for participants of all skill levels in a lively, safe, and welcoming environment. The instructor encourages creativity, builds confidence, motivates participants, and helps foster a love of dance and a sense of community. Dance styles sought include ballet, tap, and hip hop; other interests may include cheer, musical theater, and basic tumbling.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong foundation in dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, and/or hip hop.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct and motivate students of varied skill levels.
• A creative approach to teaching and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
• Passion for dance and sharing it with others.

Nice To Haves

• Interest or experience in cheer, musical theater, or basic tumbling.
