About The Position

ACCEL Schools is hiring a Daily Substitute Teacher to cover Solon Academy, Strongsville Academy, and Westlake Academy. The role supports student learning and social-emotional development by delivering instruction, creating a positive classroom environment, and following school-approved curricula and culture expectations. The position is paid at a daily rate of $130. Starting pay may be affected by geography or market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Requirements

Active and current State of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
High comfort level working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as appropriate during the school year.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
Manage student behavior in the classroom.
Create a positive classroom environment that supports student learning.
Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
Communicate and meet with families about their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
Participate in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities as needed.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervise students of various ages in different school settings, such as playgrounds and cafeterias.
