About The Position

The Cylinder Processor handles medical and industrial gas cylinders according to established plant guidelines and procedures. The role includes inspecting cylinders before filling, checking cylinder quantities, styles, and products, and filling products as needed. The processor also loads and unloads product from the weekly shuttle truck, operates and maintains cylinder scales and related equipment, prepares warehouse transfer orders and shipping paperwork, and enters filled-cylinder inventory details into the computer. The position also involves maintaining quality-control documentation and operating a forklift and other plant vehicles. Employees may be assigned additional tasks by their manager.

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
More than one year of experience in a plant or manufacturing environment.
Good leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Process medical and industrial gas cylinders in accordance with established plant guidelines and procedures.
Inspect cylinders using visual, physical, and odor tests to determine whether retesting or repairs are needed before filling.
Check cylinder quantities, styles, and products, and fill product as necessary.
Load and unload product from the weekly shuttle truck.
Operate and maintain cylinder scales and associated equipment.
Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying shipping paperwork.
Enter quantities, styles, and products filled into the computer to support stock inventory records.
Complete and maintain quality-control documentation in accordance with company and governmental procedures.
Operate a forklift and other plant vehicles.
Perform additional job tasks as required by the manager.
