About The Position

The Cut Floor Supervisor oversees personnel on the shift and directs production operations in accordance with sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. The role promotes safety, efficiency, and productivity, and ensures employees receive proper training. The supervisor anticipates and addresses causes of delays to meet production schedules, applies employee-relations and union-contract policies, and monitors maintenance and sanitation of machinery, equipment, and facilities. The position also ensures production records, including payroll and yields, are prepared and maintained; works with other supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork; attends meetings as scheduled or requested; and performs other assigned duties. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt role on the second shift in Marshalltown, Iowa, with weekends as needed. The position reports to the Cut Superintendent.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Supervisory skills.
• Good interpersonal relations and the ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak multiple languages.
• College experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, evaluate, and direct shift personnel in carrying out production operations in line with operating principles and company policies and procedures.
• Promote maximum safety, efficiency, and productivity among production workers and ensure employees are properly trained.
• Anticipate and identify causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate action to meet production schedules.
• Apply company employee-relations and union-contract policies when dealing with employees.
• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
• Arrange for production records, including payroll and yields, to be prepared and maintained.
• Work with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork across departments and the plant.
• Attend meetings as scheduled or called.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
