About The Position

The 2nd Shift Cut Associate operates cutting and secondary equipment to provide quality products to customers. The role involves preparing and operating machinery to cut parts to specifications, monitoring equipment and workpieces for defects or malfunctions, and ensuring work is completed safely and meets quality standards. The associate also completes required paperwork, communicates with other departments, and maintains a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

Perform all assigned machine operations.
Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Determine appropriate cutting equipment and methods based on requirements.
Set up, adjust, and operate machinery and equipment to cut parts to specifications.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Ensure work is performed safely and consistently and meets quality standards.
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
Inspect cut surfaces and structures to ensure accuracy and discover flaws.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces.
Identify, tag, and remove non-conforming materials.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate with other departments as necessary.
Keep work areas clean and organized.
Adhere to all company rules and policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
