About The Position

The Cut Floor Supervisor oversees shift personnel and directs production operations in accordance with sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. The supervisor promotes safety, efficiency, and productivity, ensures employees receive proper training, and addresses delays to help meet production schedules. The role applies employee-relations and union-contract policies, monitors machinery, equipment, and facility maintenance and sanitation, and ensures production records such as payroll and yields are prepared and maintained. The supervisor works with other production supervisors and management to support efficiency and teamwork, attends scheduled or called meetings, and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
Supervisory skills.
Good interpersonal relations and the ability to handle conflict.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

College experience is recommended.
Ability to speak multiple languages is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Supervise, evaluate, and direct shift personnel in performing production operations.
Promote maximum safety, efficiency, and productivity among production workers.
Ensure employees receive proper training.
Anticipate and identify causes of shift-operation delays and take appropriate action to meet production schedules.
Apply company employee-relations and union-contract policies in dealings with employees.
Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
Arrange for production records, including payroll and yields, to be prepared and maintained.
Work with other production supervisors and management to promote efficiency and teamwork in the department and plant.
Attend meetings as scheduled or called.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
