About The Position

The Customs Brokerage Agent supports the smooth, timely, and compliant processing of customs activities. The role involves entering and tracking customs information, preparing and assisting with customs declarations, coordinating timely client billing, and interpreting desk-level operating procedures to meet customer instructions and expectations. The position also requires compliance with applicable regulations and knowledge of customs brokerage processes and documentation.

Requirements

At least 2 years of brokerage experience.
Good knowledge of the customs brokerage process and customs legislation, especially classification, valuation, and origin.
Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation processes.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and computer skills.
Goal- and detail-oriented.
Strong analytical and process improvement skills.
Good computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Word.
Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system.
Track and trace customs files and provide reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely client billing.
Understand and correctly interpret import and export customs Desk Level Operating Procedures to fulfill customer instructions and expectations.
Transfer customs declaration information from documents or other sources into the customs entry system to support preparation of a valid customs declaration.
Assist with verifying customs declaration information and submitting it to the customs authority.
Ensure compliance with regulations at all times.
