About The Position

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by proactively approaching customers, assessing their needs, and offering assistance. They learn about products using company tools and provide information to help customers complete an entire project. Associates learn to greet, qualify, recommend products, and close sales in their department, as well as handle basic questions in adjacent departments.

Associates maintain assigned areas so products are in stock and the areas are clean, shop-able, and safe. They help provide a safe working and shopping environment by following safety policies and standards, completing required safety training, promptly correcting or reporting hazards, and working safely. They cooperate with their Department Supervisor and associates in their own and other departments. Store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Immediately correct hazards and unsafe conditions or report them to the Manager on Duty.
• Work safely to avoid endangering themselves, coworkers, vendors, or customers.
• Cooperate with the Department Supervisor and associates in the same and other departments.
