About The Position
Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by seeking out customers, assessing their needs, and assisting them. They learn about products using company tools and provide information to help customers purchase an entire project. Associates learn to greet, qualify, recommend, and close customers in their department, and handle basic needs in adjacent departments. Associates maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and keep them clean, shop-able, and safe. They help provide a safe working and shopping environment by following safety policies and standards, completing required safety training, correcting hazards or reporting them to the Manager on Duty, and working safely. They cooperate with their Department Supervisor and other associates in their department and across departments. Store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
Responsibilities

- Greet, qualify, recommend products to, and close customers in the assigned department.
- Handle basic customer needs in adjacent departments.
- Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and keep them clean, shop-able, and safe.
- Follow safety policies and standards and complete specified safety training.
- Correct hazards and unsafe conditions immediately or report them to the Manager on Duty.
- Work safely to avoid endangering themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.
- Cooperate with the Department Supervisor and associates in their department and other departments.
