About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer support as part of a team. The role serves as a face of the company, helping customers with U-Haul products and services, using current technology to dispatch and return equipment, and inspecting and maintaining equipment. On-the-job education is offered, including ongoing learning through U-Haul University and certifications for propane filling and forklift operation. The position is located at 140 S Plaza, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Virginia and other listed states.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
Must not use nicotine products, under U-Haul’s stated hiring policy for Virginia.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer customer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; U-Haul certification is offered upon employment.
Drive a forklift; U-Haul certification is offered upon employment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
