About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to provide customer assistance and help maintain equipment at a U-Haul center. The role works as part of a supportive team, helping customers with U-Haul products and services, managing equipment rentals and returns using current technology, and inspecting and maintaining equipment. On-the-job education is provided, including opportunities to obtain certifications for propane filling and forklift operation. The role also includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. The position is located at 860 Waveland Ave, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
Answer questions and educate customers about products and services.
Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
Install hitches and trailer wiring.
Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
Perform other duties as assigned.
