About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Customer Service Representative at Zionsville Country Kennel. The role welcomes pet parents and their pets, supports customers by phone and in person, and helps ensure a safe, positive experience at the facility. The position also includes administrative and payment-handling tasks, maintaining the lobby, and assisting other team members as needed. The job requires availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves frequent standing and walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication skills across phone, in-person, and email interactions.
• Ability to use multi-line phones and computer systems.
• Ability to remain professional under pressure and solve problems.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort working around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome pet parents and their pets.
• Answer phones and multitask while assisting customers.
• Tour prospective clients through the facility and sell services.
• Ensure current vaccination records are on file.
• Manage customer and pet check-ins and check-outs.
• Handle cash and card payments and balance the end-of-day cash drawer.
• Respond to complaints patiently and professionally.
• Escort pet guests to and from their enclosures.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
