About The Position

This position receives customer service inquiries from members, agents, and claimants; identifies the nature of each issue; resolves issues within its delegated authority; and facilitates resolution of issues outside that authority. The role may also include front-desk visitor assistance or helping assemble renewal mailings, depending on work assignment.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to learn property and casualty insurance terminology and basic operating principles.
• Ability to provide effective customer service.
• Ability to use communication software, including telephonic and text-based software, and other office equipment.
• Ability to work in an office environment with a moderate noise level, remain stationary, and operate a computer for most of the time.
• Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials and move materials weighing up to ten pounds daily.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with property and casualty insurance terminology and basic operating principles.
• Experience providing customer service.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer service issues by telephone, email, fax, or other communication methods.
• Identify customer service issues and determine whether the customer service group can resolve them.
• Resolve issues within delegated authority related to underwriting, claims, accounting, and marketing.
• Refer issues outside delegated authority to the appropriate department for resolution.
• Maintain records of customer service inquiries.
• Identify and communicate trends in customer service issues to support root cause analysis.
• When assigned to the front desk, greet visitors and monitor access to the building.
• When assigned to the office, assist as needed with folding and assembling renewal mailings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
