The Customer Service Rep operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The role involves communicating with customers and co-workers in person and by telephone, entering orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen, and handling payments accurately. Work takes place in a food-service environment with varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and sometimes cramped spaces such as a walk-in cooler. Most tasks are performed standing, with frequent walking, reaching, hand use, and forward bending. The position may also require lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, occasional climbing or stair navigation, and driving to deliver orders within a designated area. Paperwork is generally completed seated at a desk or table.
