Retail - Seasonal Customer Service/Cashier
About The Position
The Retail Seasonal Customer Service/Cashier helps customers shop, locate products, and find solutions while providing friendly, fast checkout service. The role supports store operations through truck unloading, stocking, planogram work, merchandise recovery, and maintaining a well-merchandised and in-stock store. Team members also assist with online order processes, customer rewards and credit-card enrollments, store safety and shrink programs, and may be cross-trained in custom framing sales and production. The position is based in a public retail store. Some stock rooms may not be climate controlled, and assigned work may take place outdoors while retrieving carts or unloading trucks. The frame shop contains a glass cutter and heat press. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Michaels requires team members in this role to be at least 16 years old.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities
- Help customers shop, locate products, and find solutions.
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
- Explain the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customers about the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, including returns/go-backs and general store recovery.
- Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and ad set duties as assigned.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Follow standard operating procedures, company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
- Interact with others respectfully, remain positive in difficult situations, promote the organization’s vision and values, and serve as a positive role model.
- Cross-train in custom framing sales and production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
