About The Position

The Customer Service Associate (CSA) provides prompt, efficient, courteous, and quality service to customers in a convenience store. The role includes operating a cash register, greeting and assisting customers, helping with fuel dispensers, handling cash, performing light janitorial duties, and completing other assigned duties. The position is nonexempt and hourly, with open availability required. Duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs and organizational requirements.

Requirements

• Be available to work various schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Have at least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Be able to handle money accurately.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Have excellent customer service skills.
• Be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Be able to perform simple math, including counting, recording, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 20–50 pounds.
• Be comfortable working in a convenience store environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the Dress Code Policy.
• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor toward customers and fellow employees.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily exposure to gasoline and oil products.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service to customers.
• Greet and assist customers.
• Operate the cash register for convenience store and gasoline purchases, with assistance available if needed.
• Account for all monies, cigarettes, and lottery tickets on the assigned shift.
• Check product expiration dates and face off product.
• Follow proper safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist customers with fuel dispensers.
• Perform light janitorial duties and other duties as assigned.
