About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help provide a great shopping experience for every customer. The role includes assisting customers, operating a cash register, maintaining merchandise and store cleanliness, receiving and replenishing stock, and helping maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment. Other duties may be assigned. This is a part-time position at 713 S. Washington Street, Crawfordsville, Indiana 47933. The job specification is not an exhaustive list of duties and may be amended as business needs evolve. Employment is at-will and the job description does not constitute a contract of employment.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
