Customer Service Associate
About The Position
The Customer Service Associate helps deliver a positive shopping experience by assisting customers, managing sales transactions at an assigned cash register, protecting cash and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, and helping unload trucks. The role also includes replenishing stock in accordance with productivity standards and maintaining a positive, safe, respectful, professional, and friendly environment for customers, associates, and leaders. The associate is responsible for keeping the store clean and presentable, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and maintaining neatness throughout the store. Other duties may be assigned. This is a part-time position with a listed pay range of $16 to $16.50.
Requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
- Ability to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
- Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
- Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
- Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
- Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
- Receive merchandise and help unload trucks.
- Replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
