About The Position

This is a part-time position at the Bayville Store in Bayville, NJ. The role involves customer service, processing transactions, maintaining the sales floor, and assisting with various store operations. The trainee will receive cross-training to promote growth and productivity. The position requires adherence to Goodwill policies and safety procedures, professional etiquette, and the ability to handle money and customer interactions effectively.

Requirements

  • Must possess professional etiquette.
  • Must achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights, weekends and occasionally long hours.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of position.
  • Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  • Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
  • Customer Service: Ability to meet customer needs, understand their concerns, and resolve issues in a friendly and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.
  • Process register transactions, handle money, and count down a drawer.
  • Engage customers using specific steps including greeting, focusing on the customer, maintaining a clean store, walking, talking, showing, thanking customers, listening and responding to concerns, managing the register line, and using good phone etiquette.
  • Provide short, clear, timely announcements.
  • Stock and maintain the sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing merchandise and organizing wares and furniture.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods.
  • Utilize systems, including phones and paging systems.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times.
  • Wear company-issued uniform.
  • Attend work regularly.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures as necessary.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.
