About the position
Foursquare is seeking a Customer Operations Engineer to join their team. This role involves working with clients and partners to ensure successful integration of Foursquare's enterprise and marketer clients with their products and data. The Customer Operations Engineer will provide technical guidance, support, and troubleshooting for Foursquare's API and SDK products. They will also collaborate with the developer community to provide integration guidance and support. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or a similar field, experience in client-facing roles, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Responsibilities
- Support onboarding of API and SDK products directly with Enterprise and non-Enterprise clients and partners
- Act as the first technical point of contact for Enterprise clients and SDK partners, providing support for Foursquare's API and SDK products
- Build technical and non-technical solutions to address friction points in onboarding, such as integration and onboarding guides and FAQs
- Work with the developer community to provide integration guidance and support
- Validate successful integration and confirm completion of onboarding
- Provide technical documentation, guidance, and recommendations to clients
- Advocate for client needs internally with product and engineering teams
- Read and understand code
- Explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in client calls
- Have basic proficiency in Python and SQL
- Have basic proficiency in at least one other programming language (Java, Kotlin, Swift, Scala preferred but not required)
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have AWS experience (nice to have)
- Have Git experience (nice to have)
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or similar degree
- 3+ years of experience in support/solutions/sales engineering or similar client-facing roles
- 1.5+ years of experience working with developer products such as APIs or SDKs, or similar experience in mobile development
- Basic proficiency in Python and SQL (we use Postgres, Hive, Athena)
- Basic proficiency in at least one other programming language (Java, Kotlin, Swift, Scala preferred but not required)
- Competent at reading and understanding code
- Experience in explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with joining and participating in client calls
- AWS experience (nice to have)
- Git experience (nice to have)
