Customer Engineering Lead

Veda Tech Labs Inc

About The Position

Veda is hiring a Customer Engineering Lead to own the customer experience from technical discovery and onboarding through production launch and ongoing success. The role combines DeFi knowledge, practical software engineering, customer communication, and delivery ownership. The lead will understand customer business and technical constraints, translate requirements into clear engineering work, investigate issues, and remain accountable for meeting customer needs. This is a hands-on role that will help build Veda’s customer engineering function. The lead will work closely with engineering, product, and growth to make delivery more predictable and establish repeatable processes. Success means customers have a credible technical partner, engineering receives clear and validated requirements, launches become more predictable, recurring issues decrease, and customer feedback informs product decisions.

Requirements

  • Track record of owning complex customer engagements in a technical role such as customer engineering, solutions engineering, integration engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting.
  • Strong DeFi and Web3 fundamentals, including understanding smart contracts, wallets, token approvals, vaults, lending, liquidity, deposit and withdrawal mechanics, and associated operational risks and tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience with block explorers and blockchain tooling; ability to inspect transactions and events, read contract interfaces and relevant Solidity code, and reason about permissions and asset movement.
  • Practical software engineering skills, including working with APIs and SDKs, reading unfamiliar codebases, writing scripts in a language such as Python or TypeScript, and investigating issues across onchain and offchain systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including leading technical discussions, explaining tradeoffs to business stakeholders, and writing actionable engineering specifications.
  • Strong execution and organizational judgment, including turning ambiguous requests into concrete plans, managing competing priorities, and driving cross-team work to completion.
  • Ability to set realistic expectations, constructively challenge assumptions, and distinguish confirmed facts from questions requiring investigation.
  • Experience using AI tools in real workflows and the technical judgment to evaluate and correct their output.

Nice To Haves

  • Built or supported DeFi vaults, institutional crypto integrations, or products involving lending, staking, or cross-chain infrastructure.
  • Worked directly with exchanges, wallets, asset managers, or other enterprise crypto customers.
  • Created implementation playbooks, intake systems, or automation that improved delivery across multiple customers.
  • Shipped production software or smart contracts and supported them after launch.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer relationships and communication, build trust with technical and business stakeholders, lead regular conversations, share progress, and address concerns.
  • Lead technical discovery and solution design by understanding customer goals, architecture, and operational constraints; mapping needs to Veda’s capabilities; explaining tradeoffs; and identifying gaps.
  • Translate customer requests into actionable specifications and engineering tickets, including expected behavior, technical context, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and open questions.
  • Drive delivery from intake through acceptance by establishing owners and milestones, coordinating dependencies, surfacing risks, and validating delivered functionality against customer requirements.
  • Investigate technical issues directly by inspecting onchain transactions, contract state, API responses, and logs; reproducing problems; creating scripts or integration examples; and providing useful diagnoses.
  • Standardize vault launches and operations, including intake requirements, configuration decisions, launch checklists, documentation, and operational handoffs; identify recurring friction and work with engineering to eliminate it.
  • Own ongoing customer success by monitoring adoption, satisfaction, and changing requirements, coordinating customer communication during incidents, and following through on resolution and corrective actions.
  • Use AI tools for research, debugging, specification development, documentation, and workflow automation, while verifying outputs and maintaining accountability for technical accuracy and customer commitments.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity, with compensation reflecting experience, technical depth, and scope of responsibility.
