About The Position
Join M&S as a Customer Assistant in the Food section. This frontline retail role involves serving customers, filling shelves, selling products, and helping drive sales in a fast-paced environment. You will confidently recommend M&S food products, deliver remarkable service, and help customers feel valued. You will use digital tools, including Sparks and in-store devices, to enhance the customer experience and help customers find the products they need. The role requires resilience, commitment, and teamwork. You will contribute to a positive, high-energy environment and adapt to working across different areas of the store as business and customer needs change. Shifts vary across a seven-day operation. The role involves early mornings and applicants must be at least 18 years old. A £3.00 per-hour unsocial premium applies only to hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old due to the early-morning work and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Be resilient and committed, and able to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Have knowledge of M&S Food products and take pride in that knowledge.
- Be digitally confident and able to use digital tools and in-store devices.
- Be a team player who contributes to a positive, high-energy working environment.
- Be flexible and adaptable to work across various areas of the store and changing demands.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers and deliver a remarkable, five-star customer experience at pace.
- Recommend and sell M&S food products to customers.
- Fill shelves and help ensure customers can get the products they want when they need them.
- Help drive growth in sales.
