About The Position
M&S is seeking a Customer Assistant to work in the Food section at its Speke New Mersey store. The role is at the frontline of a fast-paced retail environment and involves serving customers, filling shelves, selling and recommending food products, and helping drive sales. The successful colleague will deliver attentive service, make customers feel valued, and respond effectively to strong customer demand. The role requires confidence using digital tools, including Sparks and in-store devices, to improve the customer experience and help customers find the products they want. Customer Assistants work collaboratively to support a positive, energetic team environment and must be adaptable enough to work across different areas of the store as business needs change. The position involves late-night work and is not open to applicants under 18. A £3.00 per-hour unsocial premium applies only to hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old because the role involves late-night work.
- Be resilient, committed, and able to stay focused in a high-pressure, busy retail environment.
- Take pride in knowledge of M&S Food products and confidently recommend and sell products.
- Be digitally confident and able to use digital tools and in-store devices.
- Be a team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive working environment.
- Be flexible and adaptable to work across different areas of the store.
