About The Position

The Custom In-Home Installation Lead delivers, installs, configures and programs advanced audio systems in residential and commercial spaces. The role ensures installations meet custom installation standards for device mounting, cable management, power management and product functionality. It requires a solid understanding of general electrical and construction principles and the ability to follow current National Electrical Code and Uniform Building Code standards, along with codes and applicable laws mandated by the authorizing jurisdiction.

The role establishes cabling infrastructure for retrofit and new-construction projects, programs basic automation and control systems, and oversees customer deliveries, setups, tutoring sessions and troubleshooting. The lead collaborates with Best Buy sales teams, custom installation managers, engineers, programmers, general contractors and subcontractors.

Requirements

• One year of experience in sales, delivery, installation or repair, or military equivalent.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Ability to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing required to perform the job effectively within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy safety standards.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds individually or 150 pounds as a team.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Solid understanding of general electrical and construction principles.
• Ability to follow current National Electrical Code and Uniform Building Code standards and applicable jurisdictional codes and laws.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an in-home experience environment.
• Experience selling and/or installing home or car AV equipment.

Responsibilities
