About The Position

N. Wasserstrom is hiring a Custom Crate Builder to build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets and prepare products for shipment. The role supports manufacturing, warehouse, and operations activities, including moving and organizing shipping materials, labeling products, and maintaining an orderly work area.

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust, and moving mechanical parts. It involves medium to heavy physical work, including exerting up to 75 pounds occasionally, up to 35 pounds frequently, and up to 15 pounds constantly to move objects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use woodworking equipment, such as nail guns and staple guns.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.
• Ability to add and subtract fractions.
• Attention to detail, including meeting quality standards and demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
• Organizational skills, including completing work in a timely manner and prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
• Problem-solving ability, including gathering and analyzing information and generating suggestions for improving work.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and contribute to a positive team spirit.
• Ability to observe and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Package and protect products for shipment.
• Operate forklifts to move crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Organize and optimize space for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Label products with shipping information.
• Perform other tasks to support manufacturing, warehouse, and operations as needed.
