About The Position

N. Wasserstrom is seeking a Custom Crate Builder to build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets and prepare products for shipment. The role also involves moving and organizing shipment materials, labeling products, maintaining an orderly work area, and supporting manufacturing, warehouse, and operations as needed.

This position works in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust, or moving mechanical parts. The work includes medium to heavy physical exertion and frequent use of hands, standing, reaching, and walking.

Requirements

• High-school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use woodworking equipment, such as nail guns and staple guns.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Mechanically inclined, with the ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 of an inch.
• Ability to add and subtract fractions.
• Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Organized; completes work in a timely manner and can prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Problem-solver who gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work.
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team, contributing to a positive team spirit.
• Observes and follows safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wooden crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Package and protect products for shipment.
• Operate forklifts to move crates, boxes, and pallets.
• Organize and optimize space for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Label products with shipping information.
• Perform other tasks to support manufacturing, warehouse, and operations as needed.
