About The Position

Under general supervision, the Custodian maintains the community’s interior and exterior in accordance with established policies, procedures, company quality and cleanliness standards, resident satisfaction expectations, safety and security practices, and regulatory requirements. The role promotes service excellence and patient confidentiality, and represents the environmental services department professionally while supporting resident satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; the position involves driving a golf cart around the property.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and maintain floors; clean and shampoo carpets.
• Clean and sanitize common areas such as public restrooms, elevators, offices, public rooms, beauty salons, resident and employee lounges.
• Empty trash receptacles, place recyclable materials in appropriate receptacles, pick up trash, and keep the exterior perimeter clean.
• Identify safety concerns and repair needs; perform repairs or report them to a supervisor.
• Push utility carts or drive electric carts to transport tools, materials, supplies, and equipment; assist residents with moving when needed.
• Clean and wash wheelchairs and furniture.
• Clean up accidents inside the building.
• Depending on the community, fix drapery rods and/or wash windows.
• Set up and tear down events.
• Perform work safely and in compliance with the facility safety program.
• Provide effective and courteous service to residents, guests, and coworkers.
• Promote and protect each resident’s rights.
• Perform other related work as required.
