About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The role performs janitorial and scheduled duties, maintains the upkeep of work areas and cleaning equipment, and may handle special and hazardous waste. The Custodian follows safety rules and company procedures, uses appropriate personal protective equipment, reports incidents and hazardous conditions, and works under direction as part of a team. Driving to different work locations, customer sites, or company facilities may be necessary. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Compensation is $15.00–$16.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Complete all required safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for work must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual ability.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor; comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; and stop at-risk behavior.
Work with other employees, take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities when necessary to perform essential functions.
