About The Position

Under the direction of the Facilities Director and the Head Custodian, the Custodian will perform custodial services for all facilities associated with the YMCA. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Requirements

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have ability to operate a computer.
Ability to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

Opening and closing of the facility when required.
Perform routine building cleaning tasks such as dusting, window washing, emptying trash and keeping the grounds free of debris.
Perform general floor care and cleaning, including vacuuming sweeping and mopping.
Perform heavy duty floor care such as scrubbing, stripping or waxing and be able to safely operate cleaning equipment.
Keep soap and paper dispensers stocked.
Set up, tear down and clean up after scheduled events such as swim meets, tournaments, classes, parties, etc.
Cleans restrooms and locker rooms including showers.
Cleans regularly assigned areas as well other areas as needed.
Snow removal as needed.
Attends required meetings, completes required training and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned.
