About The Position

A janitor or cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins. A janitor/cleaner/custodian oversees keeping the workplace clean, organized and disinfected.

Requirements

Must be energetic, pleasant, and professional.
Strong communication skills.
Recognize and understand safety requirements and meet company handbook expectations.
Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties.

Specifically trained in commercial cleaning for a wide array of industries ranging from healthcare to education to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Performs work assignments in a team with other employees.

Talk with manager, peers, and customers in a professional manner.
Use proper personal protective equipment.
Understand customer service and satisfaction.
Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and restrooms.
Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
Maintain cleaning inventory and placing orders for new products when needed.
Remove debris from sidewalks.
Empty trash and recycling bins.
