About The Position

The City of Fishers Community Center is hiring dependable, enthusiastic Custodians to help keep the facility clean, safe, and welcoming. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. Custodians maintain offices, break rooms, restrooms, program rooms, and common areas according to a set schedule and applicable building, health, and safety standards. They also help ensure patron safety, respond to emergencies, and provide excellent customer service. The Community Center is a 105,000-square-foot facility that opened in October 2025. It includes free community amenities and paid-membership amenities such as indoor pools, athletic gyms, fitness and exercise studios, childcare, and more. This position receives a free Community Center membership.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Ability to use standard equipment and products to perform custodial duties.
Ability to follow oral and written directions, complete work logs, and read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Must have Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or be able to obtain them within the first 60 days.

Responsibilities

Perform general custodial duties in offices, break rooms, restrooms, program rooms, and common areas according to a set schedule and applicable standards.
Clean and dust high and low areas, including elevators and office fixtures.
Clean floors and carpets by sweeping, vacuuming, spot mopping, and operating automatic scrubber and carpet spotter machines.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and maintain appropriate supply levels.
Wash windows, walls, partitions, baseboards, doors and handles, drinking fountains, light fixtures, trash receptacles, and air vent fixtures using cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment.
Maintain work logs and records.
Periodically inventory cleaning supplies and equipment.
Help ensure patron safety and take charge in an emergency when necessary.
Act as a first responder in emergencies, provide immediate assistance, administer first aid or CPR as needed, and follow emergency protocols.
Report emergencies promptly and complete accident reports as necessary.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
