About The Position

Interstate, a family-owned janitorial and maintenance company, is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Custodian to work at a client site. The role involves cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, maintaining floors, removing trash, and using cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and works well as part of a team. The company describes opportunities for career advancement and promotion from within.

The schedule is 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. Employees who work all scheduled full-time hours (40 hours per week) may earn an additional $1.00 per hour through an attendance incentive. Duties may be modified or amended and may include other duties related to the position.

Requirements

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Frequent bending and reaching from the waist.
• Reliable transportation.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, vacuum, sanitize, and disinfect bathrooms, breakrooms, and other assigned areas.
• Remove trash and replace trash can linings.
• Complete assigned cleaning areas satisfactorily and on time according to schedule.
• Maintain hard-surface and carpeted floors, including dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting in offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas.
• Use and properly maintain equipment, including pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, vacuums, and similar equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
