About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial work, follows a daily schedule, maintains the assigned area, and operates motorized cleaning equipment. It also includes handling hazardous waste, following safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment, and supporting shift operations as needed. The position requires following instructions and responding to supervision, working with employees and customers professionally, maintaining a clean work area, and reporting incidents or hazardous conditions to a supervisor. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned or changed as business needs require. No specific education is required. Three to six months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license may be required depending on business needs; employees who drive must meet company driving eligibility requirements. Safety and task training certifications must be completed, and forklift certification may be required. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., at $19.50 per hour. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or listen and must be able to lift or move up to 35 pounds. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Complete all safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and complete all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily cleanliness of the assigned area and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others.
Perform repetitive tasks and work assignments as part of a team.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with the shift lead, supervisor, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
