About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial duties, follows daily work schedules, maintains assigned areas and cleaning equipment, and may handle hazardous waste activities such as collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste. The Custodian follows safety procedures, uses required personal protective equipment, reports incidents and hazardous conditions, and works collaboratively with staff and customers. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The role is scheduled Monday to Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at $20.00–$21.00 per hour. Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including willingness to share knowledge with the team.
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Complete all required safety and task training certifications.
If driving is required, maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual ability.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs.
Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the daily upkeep of assigned areas.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, company procedures, and other rules.
Stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others.
Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area.
Work as part of a team and fill in during staff shortages.
Support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Understand customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
