About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas. The role performs scheduled janitorial work and hazardous-waste duties, operates motorized cleaning equipment, maintains assigned areas, and follows safety, company, and customer-service procedures. The position works with other employees and supports the shift lead as needed. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, with compensation of $14.50–$15.50 per hour. No specific education is required; three to six months of training or experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Three to six months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Must complete all safety and task training certifications.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive for their duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all tasks listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep and care.
Maintain the daily cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas and keep the work area clean.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor, and stop at-risk behavior by oneself or others.
Follow safety rules, protocols, company procedures, policies, and other rules, and use proper personal protective equipment.
Complete repetitive tasks and work assignments as part of a team.
Take direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct and understand customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
