About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Custodian for its new inpatient residential location in Norfolk, Virginia. The Custodian maintains the cleanliness and smooth functioning of the property and plant, performs routine custodial work, and provides operational support as needed by the Executive Director. The role includes completing facility upkeep checklists and reporting completed work and concerns.

Requirements

• CPR certification is required.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• Dignified and honest character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of two years of related experience is preferred.
• For candidates in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of the property and plant.
• Perform routine custodial duties, including cleaning, restocking, and removing garbage.
• Provide operational support as required by the Executive Director.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
• Report completed activities and escalate concerns to the Executive Director.
