About The Position

The Custodian cleans common spaces and athletic facilities at school sites to District standards. This is a 12-month, 261-day hourly, non-exempt position at Crismon High School, with a schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Compensation is according to the QCUSD salary schedule for the applicable position, and benefits are provided according to QCUSD District policy. The position reports to the Director of Building Operations. The work includes cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, bathrooms, walls, windows, furniture, elevators, stairwells, and waste receptacles. The custodian also identifies equipment or facility issues for the janitorial site lead and performs other job-related duties as assigned. Work may involve wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, and extreme heat or cold. A satisfactory criminal background check and an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid Arizona driver's license.
Satisfactory criminal background check and required background clearance.
Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment and floor-cleaning equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with the janitorial site lead and fellow workers.
Ability to stand and walk; reach, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently exert 50–60 pounds of force, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Dust mop, sweep, and wet mop hard-surface floors.
Vacuum rugs and carpets.
Scrub and clean bathroom fixtures and keep them supplied.
Clean walls, doors, windows, and woodwork.
Clean elevators and stairwells.
Empty trash receptacles.
Notify the janitorial site lead of equipment or facilities needing repair or replacement.
Dust, clean, and polish furniture and countertops.
Be flexible and perform other job-related duties as assigned to advance District priorities.
