About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the school is clean, safe, and orderly. The Custodian will maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas. This role involves tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces. The Custodian will also be responsible for minor repairs and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel. This is a 12-month position with 5 hours per day, typically in the evening.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
• Experience in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
